Upon learning of a nuclear threat at Travis State University, the 126 division rushes to the scene to curb the resulting devastation. Nevertheless, an unexpected explosion ends up injuring the members in the control room. Marjan, Mateo, Paul, and Judd stay put to tend to their wounds, leaving Owen to make a final charge to shut down the reactor.
Owen manages to achieve his goal at the last moment but soon falls to the ground, unconscious. He is later discovered by the Austin Fire Department members, implying that the heroic captain has laid down his life while saving humanity. With Owen’s character arc having come a full circle, the events also corroborate a much-discussed theory, suggesting that he could meet his end sooner rather than later.
