The first look at Day Drinker has been released.
Day Drinker is a new Lionsgate movie directed by Snow White and The Amazing Spider-Man’s Marc Webb. Starring Johnny Depp, Madelyn Cline, Penélope Cruz, and more, the film has now officially started production.

Who has joined the cast of Day Drinker?
In addition to Depp, Cline, and Cruz, Day Drinker stars Manu Ríos, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto, and Anika Boyle.
“Day Drinker tells the story of a private yacht bartender (Cline) who encounters a mysterious, onboard guest (Depp),” the synopsis for the film reads. ”They soon find themselves entangled with a criminal figure (Cruz) and connected in ways no one saw coming.”
Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Adam Kolbrenner, and Zach Dean serve as producers on the movie, which was written by Dean. Dan Friedkin, Micah Green, Daniel Steinman, Stephen Deuters, Jason Forman, Sam Sarkar, Marc Webb, Eric Sherman, Sarah Hong, Scott LaStaiti, Christopher Woodrow, Connor DiGregorio, and Adrián Guerra serve as executive producers.
“I’m excited to be starting production with Johnny, Madelyn, Penelope, and this incredible cast,” Webb said in a statement. “We’re in a beautiful location with a fantastic crew and a thrilling, ferocious story to tell. This is gonna be fun.”
Day Drinker is executive produced by 30WEST. Lionsgate will present Day Drinker in association with 30WEST. The film is a Thunder Road / IN.2 production. Chelsea Kujawa is overseeing the project for Lionsgate.
Depp and Cruz have worked together before. They starred in 2001’s Blow, which is a biographical crime drama about a cocaine kingpin, before they then both had pivotal roles in 2011’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Most recently, Depp and Cruz appeared in 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express together.
A release date for Day Drinker has not yet been set.
