Disney+ has shared the full Doctor Who Season 2 trailer for the next installment of the long-running sci-fi adventure series led by Ncuti Gatwa. It is scheduled to make its return Saturday, April 12 at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT on Disney+ and on the BBC and BBC iPlayer in the UK. New episodes from the eight-part season will then debut weekly.

What happens in the Doctor Who Season 2 trailer?
The video highlights the titular Time Lord’s next action-packed adventure as he meets a new time-traveling companion in the form of Varada Sethu’s Belinda Chandra. His quest to bring Belinda back home to Earth will take them from futuristic 51st century to the 803rd Interstellar Song Contest to becoming animated characters. In addition, Millie Gibson is also set to return as Ruby Sunday.
Doctor Who currently hails from showrunner Russell T. Davies, who is executive producing alongside Phil Collinson, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner, and Jane Tranter. Season 2 will also introduce guest stars Rose Ayling-Ellis, Christopher Chung, Anita Dobson, Michelle Greenidge, Jonah Hauer-King, Ruth Madeley, Jemma Redgrave, and Susan Twist. In addition, it has also been confirmed that Emmy winner Alan Cumming has been tapped to play the guest-starring role of Mr. Ring-a-Ding, who is set to appear in the second episode.
“The Doctor meets Belinda Chandra and begins an epic quest to get her back to Earth,” reads the official synopsis. “But a mysterious force is stopping their return and the time-traveling TARDIS team must face great dangers, bigger enemies and wider terrors than ever before.”
