ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive Trail of Vengeance trailer for Shout! Studios’ upcoming Western thriller, starring Rumer Willis (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood). The movie is scheduled to make its debut on May 23, 2025, in theaters and on VOD.

What happens in the Trail of Vengeance trailer?
The video introduces Willis as a grieving woman who’s desperate to track down the people responsible for her husband’s murder. It highlights the perilous journey she’ll take for the sake of enacting her revenge. The cast also includes Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Old Man), Jeff Fahey (Wyatt Earp), Graham Greene (Dances With Wolves), Eric Nelsen (A Walk Among The Tombstones), James Landry Hébert (1883), Jeremy Sumpter (The Legend of 5 Mile Cave), Connor Esterson (Spy Kids: Armageddon), and more.
“On the lawless frontier of the 1870s, the life of Katherine Atherton is upended by the murder of her husband, orchestrated by a nefarious colonel,” reads the official synopsis. “Alone and with no one else to turn to, she unexpectedly crosses paths with a former Pinkerton agent with a troubled past. They must trust one another if they’re going to gain what each most desires: redemption … and vengeance.”
Described as a gritty Western adventure, Trail of Vengeance is directed by Johnny Remo (God’s Country Song, Saved By Grace), who co-wrote the screenplay with Daniel Backman. The latter is also producing the project with Remo and Lesa Wolfe. The creative team also includes cinematographer Isaac Alongi, production designer Erin Day, and composer Sacha Chaban.
