The truth about Gio’s parentage involving Brook Lynn and Dante has turned his world upside down, triggering emotional outbursts in General Hospital. But why is he so angry?
Here are all the spoilers.
How does Gio’s meeting with Brook Lynn and Dante go in General Hospital?
Everything changed in the General Hospital May 22 episode when Lulu confronted Lois with a major secret that Brook Lynn and Dante, not Camilla and Francis Palmieri, are Gio’s real parents. Lois begged Lulu to stay quiet, but Lulu gave her a choice to tell the truth tonight, or she would do it herself.
Gio overheard the entire conversation and walked away, crushed. Despite the pain, he performed onstage and shocked the audience when he dedicated his violin piece to “the parents who never wanted me.” Then, he smashed his instrument in front of everyone. Brook Lynn tracked down Lois, desperate for answers. Lois confirmed the truth that Gio is her son.
The weight of that truth left Brook Lynn overwhelmed. When Dante arrived, he pressed for answers. Brook Lynn admitted she never told him about the pregnancy because she didn’t want to drag him into a decision she struggled to make as a scared young woman.
Dante didn’t accept that. He told Brook Lynn she kept a life-changing secret from him for 22 years. Brook Lynn tried to explain that she had buried the truth to protect him, but Dante argued that she had taken away his right to choose. Both struggled to make sense of the mess they now faced together.
Now, in the May 28 General Hospital episode, Gio tried to leave the Quartermaine mansion, but Dante stopped him. Gio demanded to know why his mother abandoned him. Brook Lynn explained she thought staying away would keep his life stable. Gio didn’t buy it. He told her she never wanted him and never even looked for him. She admitted she didn’t want to turn his world upside down, but that only fueled his anger. He stormed out with Emma.
