I will tell you the dirty little secret about these “X Best Movies of X Years” lists: They’re anything but definitive. No one has seen every movie released in a year or a decade or a genre across all of history. Netflix released like 40 movies just last month! There is simply too much stuff to watch to digest it all. And even if it’s accurate to the writer’s perspective, that’s all it is; one person or a couple of writers’ (hopefully informed) opinion. So best-of lists aren’t really about “the best.” They’re ultimately about the person reading them, and movies of the…

To celebrate our decade of marriage, Mr. DitL and I ran off to the Cayman Islands for an incredible week of relaxation by turquoise water and impossibly soft sand. We also had a celebrity sighting…

Have you seen *Hacks* on MAX yet? I just finished the fourth season and was once again struck by the similarities between the lead character, Deborah Vance, played by the incredible Jean Smart, and the late comedian Joan Rivers. Long before Rivers put her name on jewelry, she was already competing in the male-dominated world of stand-up comedy and late-night television. While the small screen tale isn’t directly modeled after Rivers’s life, there are a number of parallels, including a wardrobe I can’t help but admire and lots of eye-catching costume jewelry. That got me thinking about all the jewelry marketed under…
