The vogue shoot for their September 2024 issue was directed by Lively’s self-proclaimed ‘favorite director’ Baz Luhrmann, and tells a story of American actress Lively as ‘The Cat’, a jewel thief, romanced and caught by L’Ombre, played by Hugh Jackman.  Blake Lively is dripping in jewels throughout the shoot, with the feature piece being  an original ruby and diamond Cartier necklace, once belonging to Hollywood royalty Elizabeth Taylor.

In 1957 Mike Todd gifted Dame Elizabeth Taylor with a Cartier ruby suite, though now serves as a tragic reminder. Their short-lived romance ended abruptly when Todd was killed in a plane crash just a year after their marriage.
