If you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ve heard about Jeff Jacob and his fantastic collection. In January of this year, Jacob decided he was done with the massive collection of Star Wars and other collectible items he had curated over the years. He’s a builder and had multiple rooms in his home for all of the figures and pieces, but he was building a newer home and wanted to downsize. For Jacob, it was just time.
The first auction set world records for selling prices, and the second part looks likely to generate similar buzz among fans and collectors. The catalog is available on Hake’s website. The auction house handled the first installment of Jeff’s collection and has launched Part Two, with bids closing on May 15, 2025. While the collection is heavy with Star Wars items, it also includes playsets, cards, and other items from Marvel, DC Comics, and G.I. Joe.
One of the hot items sold in January at the Jacob Collection auction was a Kenner figure of Boba Fett. The listing reported that no higher-graded example of a Boba Fett figure had ever been identified, making it an incredibly rare find. The show’s absolute “Star” was the near-mint Obi-Wan figure, which included a double telescoping lightsaber, a feature Kenner only produced in early versions. It sold for $105,182, setting a record for the highest selling price for that figure.
In this latest auction, another figure with a double-telescoping saber will be available for one lucky collector. A Darth Vader figure is listed in the collection and currently has five bids, the highest coming in at $55,000, with a solid two weeks to go before the auction closes. Take a look at this video from Hake’s to see more details about what they will be dropping the hammer on and what experts expect from the next installment in this collection
